Women in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West have condemned the kidnap of about 200 school girls in Borno State by members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect.
The women under the auspices South West Women Forum (SWWF) at their meeting held in Ibadan on Friday, prayed for the immediate release of the girls.
"As mothers, grand mothers, auntie's and sisters, we feel the pain of those affected and pray for their immediate release," they said.
On the Abuja bomb blast, they called on the citizens to be more vigilant and be security conscious of their surroundings,
They urged Nigerians to be ready and willing to cooperate with the security agents, adding that they should join hands to condemn the perpetrators of these crimes against the nation.
The leader of the forum and Leader, House of Representatives, Honourable Mulikat Akande Adeola assured that both the Federal Government and security agencies were doing everything humanly possible to see that peace return to the country.
She urged the women to put away all in-fighting to ensure that the party win the 2015 elections.
According to her, women should close ranks and support all candidates chosen by the party for the elections.
She said women interested in running for offices should begin to declare their interest, saying that they should be ready and willing. She explained that the aim of South West women was to target one senatorial seat per state in addition to all the other political offices women could aspire to.
