NIGERIA (Oyo) — Aftermath of the kidnappers’ den which was unraveled at Soka area in Ibadan, Oyo State, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar has vowed to unravel the criminals of the act.

It would be recalled that the kidnappers’ den was discovered last Saturday by a group of commercial motorcyclists while searching for two of their colleagues who were missing.

Also, eight suspects have been arrested so far over the incident.

The police boss made the promise while on an assessment visit to the den, yesterday.

Represented by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 11, Mr. Femi Omolaja, the IG said anybody involved in the heinous crime would be apprehended in due course and prosecuted accordingly.

Omojola, who is in charge of Oyo, Osun and Ondo, said he came on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police.

He said: “Thorough investigation is ongoing and we don’t want to disclose any identity of those arrested in order not to hinder our investigation.”

He advised the people to always report any suspicious movement within their vicinities to security agents.

Apparently reacting to jungle justice being carried out by youths, he warned that nobody must take the laws into his or her hands.

He said any suspect, mad or not, should be reported to law enforcement agents.
