Mikel Obi has become a bit part player at Chelsea since the arrival of Nemanja Matic from Benfica and, as a result, a number of rumours have linked the Nigerian international with a summer move away from Stamford Bridge.

The 26-year old has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea and reports in Italy were claiming that a deal was to be negotiated between the West Londoners and Inter Milan.

However, the player’s representative has publicly come out to dispel these reports which he states are simply untrue.

"Obi Mikel has never said he wanted to leave Chelsea. Obi Mikel still has a three-year contract with Chelsea, and intends to honour the commitment," John Shittu told Sport Mediaset.

Shittu has been Obi Mikel’s agent since the beginning of his career when he so very nearly joined Manchester United in 2005.

Obi Mikel ended up signing for Chelsea in 2006 for £16million from Norwegian side Lyn and has gone on to make over 200 appearances for the Blues.
