Anambra House of Assembly pleges support for Gov. Obiano

NIGERIA (Anambra)-The Anambra State House of Assembly  has pledged its support for the newly inaugurated Willy Obiano-led administration in the state, to ensure that the state government achieve greater heights.

Mrs Chinwe Nwaebili, the Speaker of the House gave the pledge in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Awka.

“I will ensure that the legislature, which I am the head, will stop at nothing in supporting every good intention of the governor for the common good of the Anambra people.

“All I am asking Anambra people is to support him, they could criticise him with love when need be for the future of our children and generation unborn.

“This is necessary so that our state can make a great history” she said.

The speaker said that the immediate past governor of the state, Chief Peter Obi, had done “very well in all sectors of the state’s economy.”

Nwaebili, therefore, advised the new governor to build on the structures on ground.

Mr Oseloka Obaze, the Secretary to the State Government, who also spoke with NAN, called on the all citizens to rally round the governor by giving him necessary support and criticism to move the state forward.

“I am confident that with God, the sky is the limit to what this government will do to better the lot of the people, all we need is their support,” he said.

He said that the inauguration of Obiano as the governor of the state marked the beginning of a good thing to come in Anambra.

Chief Nathaniel Uzoma, Ekiti State Chairman, Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, said that the people of Anambra had shown that there was strength in unity by their presence during the inauguration of Obiano.

He called on Igbos to be united where ever they lived for the development of Igbo land and the country at large.

Mr Alex Ezeobi,  Ohaneze National Youth Leader, called on Igbo youths to be responsive and sensitive to issues affecting their race and be politically enlightened to face their challenges with optimism.

Mr Allison Anadi, President of Anambra indigenes in America, said that the group would give every support to the government of Anambra to ensure that the growth of the state “from strength to strength”.
