In an attempt to regain the South West in the 2015 general election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Oyo State chapter on Thursday set up three committees to achieve the desire.  This was barely one week after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the national level appointed a group of influential individuals within the party code-named 'The Network' and led by Senate Deputy-Whip, Hosea Ayoola Agboola to seek ways of regaining the South-West states from opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).

The state PDP chairman, Alhaji Yinka Taiwo who performed the inauguration of three committees in Ibadan, tasked members to assist the party executive in reclaiming the state from Governor Abiola Ajimobi-led APC. Taiwo said the inauguration of the three committees which included Finance;

Disciplinary; Contact and Mobilization committees, was in line with the directive of the National Working Committee of the party.

He stressed the need for the party to take over the rein of governance from the APC, saying, "the goal of reclaiming Oyo state is possible. Yes, we can. We can reclaim this state. Yes, we can. We can win most of the elective positions and control Oyo state come 2015 and that is because you are all joining hands to make it happen.

"I must tell you that we have been contacted by many people, upbraided by others and advised by many that the people of Oyo state are waiting for us to say the word PDP and they will embrace us because they now know what they lost in 2011. The people are earnestly waiting for the PDP and we must not let them down.

"They are sick and tired of lies and achievements in the media with no practical achievements to show. The transformation efforts of the PDP at the federal level, championed by President Goodluck Jonathan are quite attractive to the people and they know it is only the PDP that can achieve that for them," he said.
