Suspected Quack doctor arrested in Ibadan

A suspected quack doctor, Koye Babalola (45) has been arrested by men of the Oyo State Police Command.

The suspect was alleged to have carried out operation on a pregnant woman which led to death. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Olabisi Ilobanafor who confirmed the incident in Ibadan on Wednesday, said the arrest was based on information from members of the public.

She disclosed the suspect operates two illegal hospitals known as Divine Hospital at Soka area along Sanyo and Gbemisola Memorial Hospital at Boluwaji area, Ibadan.

According to her, sometimes in September 2009, the suspected quack carried out operation on a pregnant woman. She said the suspect was arrested at his Divine illegal hospital at Soka area, adding that he had confessed to the alleged offences.

In another development, three people have been arrested for alleged rape and robbery. The PPRO who gave their names as Aderibigbe Gbenga, Akinola Kazeem and Adeolu Emmanuel, said they dispossessed a woman Padomu Marry of N30,000, Nokia Handset valued N18,500, crayfish valued N3,000 and two plantain chips valued N200.

According to her, the suspects had drove the victim to an unknown place where she was robbed and took her to dilapidated building where they raped her one after the other.
