OYO STATE GOVERMNENT SWORN IN 495 CUSTOMARY COURT JUDGES IN IBADAN.

NIGERIA (Oyo)-The Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, yesterday, officially sworn in 495 members of the customary court to become Customary Court Judges within their various Local Government Areas.

During the event which took place at the House of Chiefs, Oyo State Secretariat, Ibadan, Governor Ajimobi urged the 495 Judges to carry out their duties with the fear of God, because one can only judge without being bias if he has the fear of God.

The governor further said that the only way to justify that his action in chosen them and leaving some others behind, is for them to go on and discharge their duties diligently, stating that him the Governor, can only be said to have done well, only when those he put as head over various sectors performs their duties diligently.

The judges were permitted to settle the grievances in Yoruba language, so that the rural members will be able to understand them clearly as they are basically saddled with the responsibility of settling marital disputes and judge by what they think will be best for the two parties. 

The Governor concluded by saying that the facilities that will be needed by the Customary Court  in order to carry out their duties diligently, will be made available to them.
