The House of Representatives Committee on Civil Society and Donor Agencies has given the award of Most Outstanding NGO in the South West to the Access to Basic medical Care, (ABC) foundation, an initiative of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Mrs Florence Ajimobi

This is in recognition of the characteristic excellence and dedication of Mrs Ajimobi to all her pet projects, all of which are targetted at making life easy for people in the state

The award which was received on behalf of ABC Foundation by its Chief Operating Officer, Mrs Dolapo Oyedipe, was given after the House Committee in collaboration with Family Affairs Consultancy Services Limited inspected the activities of the projects of first ladies in the South West

The committee in the first week of February inspected various projects of Mrs Ajimobi and expressed their surprise that she has achieved so much under three years as Oyo state Governor's wife .The projects inspected include the ABC Hub, ABC mobile clinics in local government areas, Mini Clinics for widows and the aged across the state, Educate A Rural Child (ERC) intervention schools and libraries and the Florence Ajimobi ICT centre.  Also, they witnessed the distribution of breast cancer self-examination kits and watched the Ajumose Food Bank Videos and various empowerment project programmes.

The award was given on Thursday, few days after the City People Magazine gave Mrs Ajimobi an award of special recognition for her contributions to the welfare of the people of Oyo state through her Access to Basic medical Care foundation.

 Mrs Ajimobi when presented the award stated that it is not an indication that it is time to rest but an encouragement to do more for people. She reiterated her commitment to putting smiles on the faces of people especially women, children and the under privileged in the society, while also seeking for partnership support from well- meaning individuals and corporate organisations for the activities of the Foundation.
