Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi
NIGERIA (Ekiti)-The seven-man committee set up by Ekiti Government to work on creation of more local governments in the state has extended time for the submission of memoranda to Feb. 28.
A member of the committee, Mr Wasiu Okunade, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Ado-Ekiti that the extension was in the interest of the people.
According to him, only about five memoranda have so far been received by the committee since its inauguration.
He expressed concern over the low response of members of the public to the committee’s assignment in spite of mass publicity for the exercise.
Wasiu said the development compelled the committee to extend date of submission of memoranda from the February11 closing date to February 28.
He urged all communities that had been agitating for autonomy to take advantage of the exercise.
