NIGERIA (Ogun)-Aftermath of the 2014 Valentine’s Day celebration, an Ogun State Chief Magistrate’s Court, sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, has remanded a 64-year-old man, Oluwasegun Adesina-Rasheed along with two others for alleged homosexuality act.
Adesina-Rasheed, along with Samad Ojo, 20 and Ope Abeeb, 18, were ordered to be remanded at the Ibara Prison, Abeokuta by Chief Magistrate Anthony Araba on Monday.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Banji Sangotokun, told the court that the accused persons committed the offence on February 14 at about 11.30pm at the Iwe-Iroyin area, Oke-Ilewo in Abeokuta.
He said they were caught in the act inside the first accused’s Honda CRV Jeep on that fateful Valentine’s Day, adding that the offence contravened Sections 516, 214 (3) and 217 of the 2006 Criminal Law of Ogun State.
They pleaded not guilty to the charges, but their bail application by the counsel for the accused, Kehinde Amosa, was rejected by the court.
Chief Magistrate Araba then adjourned the case to February 24 for mention.
