NIGERIA (Kwara)-Members of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has urged the Kwara State government to ban the selling and consumption of alcohol in motor parks across the state.

This was said by the Chairman of the association, Alhaji Salman Ayoku, during an interview in Ilorin.

According to him, the ban will help to restore sanity at the parks and reduce accidents on our roads.

He said alcohol could influence could influence the conduct of drivers against their passengers while driving.

He said: “We are not comfortable with the way some drivers portray the association.

“It would be inhuman not to take passengers into consideration while driving; we are aware of the health implications of drinking and smoking. That’s why we are calling for measures to be taken on time.”
