Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, has received the Pioneer Woman Award at the 5th edition of National Women’s Summit organised by the Oyo State Officials’ Wives Association (OYSOWA) newspeakonline reports.

Alhaja Serifat Aregbesola, wife of Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, presented the award to Senator Sunmonu who represents Oyo Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

While receiving the award, Senator Sunmonu, said that becoming and serving out her term as the first female Speaker of the Oyo state House of Assembly, as well as being the first female Senator from the state, was a rare honour and privilege.
