Tourism is proving to be a good point of revenue for government, especially in African countries. It is a point which African officials should concentrate upon in boosting their income.

To confirm the above statement, CEOAFRICA.com gathered from Ethiopia that the state of Tigray just declared an income of Br376 million generated from tourism during the just ended Ethiopian fiscal year.

According to the Promotion expert, Yonas Tadele, the tourists usually visit centres like GereAlta Mountains and ancient churches, ancient palaces, obelisks and archaeological sites in Axum, among others.

Yonas also said the revenue exceeded that of same period last year by 3.5 percent. Activities carried out to promote the site contributed to the growth in revenue.
