Police set for late Corper’s body exhumation.

Following Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari’s directive , arrangements have been concluded by investigators to exhume the body of a youth corps member, Ifedolapo Oladepo, for medical examination.

Ceoafrica gathered that the Special Investigation Panel (SIP) probing the death of the First Class graduate of Transport Management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso, who died in Kano State, had reached an understanding with her family on the issue.

The SIP headed by retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Ali Amodu, was set up by the IG, Ibrahim Idris to handle high profile investigations in the country, in which a senior official involved in the probe said that the body might be exhumed soon, barring last minute change of plans.

Although, the police had begun investigation into the death of the corper who died during the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation in Kano, it was learnt that the corpse might be taken to a medical facility in Osogbo, Osun State for autopsy, which refers to post-mortem examination conducted on a dead body to know the cause of death.

It was further gathered that the police pathologist, Dr Wilson Akhiwu, had arrived in Abuja in preparation for the investigation into Oladepo’s sudden death in camp, as he has been carrying out preliminary findings on the case.
