Outgoing United States Secretary of State, John Kerry has congratulated the Rex Tillerson on his nomination as the new US Secretary of State.

Rex Tillerson was on Tuesday nominated by President-Elect Donald Trump as the United States Secretary of State.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Kerry said the U.S. Department of State would provide full support for a smooth transition for the incoming administration’s pursuit of U.S. foreign policy.

Kerry said “I congratulate Rex Tillerson on his nomination as Secretary of State. The State Department will continue to provide our full support for a smooth transition. This is so that the incoming Administration can pursue the important work of U.S. foreign policy around the world.”
