The U.S. has condoled with Nigeria and families of victims of the twin bomb blasts in Madagali, Adamawa, which claimed scores of lives and injured several others on Friday.
According to ceoafrica, the spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, Mark Toner, during a press briefing on Friday, regretted that the attacks came after a relative calm in the Northern region.
“First of all, we condemn the attack today in Madagali, Nigeria, that has reportedly killed at least 30 individuals and wounded many more.
“After a period of relative calm for the people of Northern region of Nigeria, this tragic attack is a reminder of the need for vigilance and urgency in the fight against Boko Haram.
“The United States supports Nigeria and its Lake Chad Basin neighbours in their effort to defeat the group and ensure the safety and security of all its citizens.
“We also send our condolences, obviously, to the victims and their families and the people of Nigeria,” Mr Toner said.
