Eid-el-Maulud: FG declares 12th December public holiday.

The federal government has declared Monday, 12th of December, 2016 as public holiday to mark Prophet Muhammed’s birthday popularly called Eid-el-Maulud among Muslim Faithfuls.

According to ceoafrica, the Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd), made the declaration on behalf of the federal government yesterday in Abuja.

In a statement signed by the acting permanent secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido, Dambazau, he enjoined all Muslim faithful and Nigerians in general to join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari to build a strong, united and peaceful nation.

He also urged all Nigerians to be patient and support Federal Government programmes aimed at bringing Nigeria out of recession thereby admonishing the muslim faithfuls to pray for peace across the nation as he wished them peaceful Eid-el-Mahmud celebration.
