As part of giving to the society where it developed, a private school in Osogbo, Kunike International School, Osun State, on Tuesday embarked on the repair of a two-kilometre portion of the Osogbo-Ilesa Road.
Ceoafrica gathered that students of the school who are being trained to become leaders in conduct and academics with community service were seen in the early hours of Tuesday with different construction equipment and gravel, filling potholes and bad portions on the road.
According to the school’s Proprietress, Mrs Olanike Olakunle, the repair work was part of its corporate social responsibility to the community adding that it was also a strategic way of instilling community service in the students, to inculcate in them the traits of patriotism and responsible citizenry.
She stressed that the school has a standing philosophy of building future leaders through the culture of selflessness and hard work as the school is a peculiar school, raising treasures that will emerge as global leaders.
She disclosed that the school was also teaching the children the tenets of economic diversification through farming as the school has acquired six hectares of land to be used by the students for farming.
