The court-disqualified candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the Ondo State governorship election, Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim, on Friday engaged in a last minute campaign for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Rotimi Akeredolu.
The campaign by Ibrahim for Akeredolu became public knowledge when the businessman openly supported the Senior Advocate of Nigeria on his Twitter handle.
Ibrahim was the candidate of the PDP until Wednesday when a Special Panel of the Court of Appeal disqualified him as the candidate of the party.
In his stead, the Court of Appeal recognized Eyitayo Jegede as the candidate of the PDP.
Following that, Ibrahim was said to have began campaigning for Akeredolu, describing him as a consistent politician and a man of integrity.
He twitted on Friday: “The people of Ondo have no choice than to Love Akeredolu.
“I know him as a selfless politician with peerless leadership.
“#OndoLoveAkeredolu “I can see #OndoLoveAkeredolu everywhere.
“Why won’t the people of Ondo Love Aketi?
“He’s a consistent politician with first class integrity.”
