The Kebbi State Government led by Governor Atiku Bagudu has distributed 13 motorcycles to environmental health officers of the Ministry of Environment in the state to enhance their service delivery.
Ceoafrica confirmed that the vehicles were distributed by the State’s Commissioner for Environment, Alhaji Muhammadu Gado, in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.
He said the reason behind the distribution was to ease the transportation challenges facing the health officers in the discharge of their duties.
He added the state government was doing its best to ensure that the health officers were doing their work effectively in sanitising the environment from any disease
He called on the beneficiaries to utilise the motorcycles for the purpose it was meant for.
Earlier, the Director of Public Health in the Ministry, Alhaji Nasiru Argungu, said the state government had earlier promised to assist the staff in reducing the transportation hardship they faced in the discharge of their duties.
He said the distribution of the motorcycles was in fulfilment of the promise made by the government to assist the officers.
He urged the staff not to relent in their efforts in ensuring the promotion of hygienic environment and routine sanitation.
Alhaji Hussaini Mohammad, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries appreciated the government for the gesture and assured that the motorcycles would be used for the purpose they were meant for, and discharge their duties effectively.
