Calls have been made to President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently fix the economy in order to reduce hunger across the country.

According to CEOAFRICA’s source, Punch, The Deputy Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Aliyu Akuh and a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party, made the call while fielding questions from journalists on Sunday in Lokoja.

He noted that Nigerians were tired of the present regime’s penchant for blaming the previous administration for the current economic challenges facing the country.

Akuh argued that the failure of the economy and efforts to resuscitate it should be the work of the present government-led by Buhari.

“It is unfortunate that the President, instead of working hard to finding solution to the hardship being suffered by Nigerians, is busy passing the buck. Nigerians voted for him to solve problems and not for him to be trading their lives with complaints of who does this and that.

“I am not against his fight against corruption, but it should be done within the ambit of the rule of law. He should not abandon the economy, but rather strive to assemble the best brains and experts in economic matters to revamp the economy,” he said.
