DANGOTE PLEDGES N1B FOR THE THREE BOKO HARAM AFFECTED STATES • GOODLUCK DONATES N450MILLION AND 650 TRUCK-LOAD OF RELIEF

Alhaji Aliko Dangote has promise to assist the three states, Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe State of the affected by Boko Harm insurgence with the sum of N1billion in addition to the N450 million donated to them by the Federal Government.

According to the breakdown of the government’s fund, Borno gets N200 million, Yobe N150 million, and Adamawa N100million.

Alhaji Bukar Tijani, the minister of state for agriculture, who reveal these donations also said that President Jonathan GoodLuck has approved the distribution of 650 truck-loads of relief materials worth over N1billion to the three states.

Bukar Tijani disclose that in the N1billion donated by the Executive Chairman of Dangote Group, Borno as the worst affected region will get N500million, while Adamawa and Yobe will share the N500million balance.

In addition to the distribution which is aim at setting a means of livelihood for the recipients, the Dangote Foundation is said to have empowered more women and youths in the 774 local government areas in the country.

However, Dangote has said the gesture was in other to check widespread poverty in Nigeria, adding that it was set up as a cash transfer intervention outfit under the Dangote Micro-Grants Programme to provide fund for vulnerable Nigerians.
