Government of Anambra State, Nigeria Approves Road Contracts Worth N5.5bn

 Contracts worth N5.5bn has been approved for execution by the Anambra State Government for development projects across the state, CEOAFRICA reports.

While briefing newsmen after the weekly executive council meeting held in Awka, Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Chief Joe Uzodike, said  the contracts included the construction of Ekwulobia-Ezinifite road in Aguata, which is 6.3km and awarded at the cost of N765.5m with a completion period of 30 weeks.

 Also included in the contract is the Isuofia-Umuona-Nanka road, with a spur to Aguata, which is 5.2kms and awarded for N587.4m with a completion period of 30 weeks, and Abube Square Nando to Afor Igbariam road, which is 4.4kms for N636.5m, with a completion period of 28 weeks.

Chief Uzodike also said the State Executive Council approved the contract for the reconstruction of Bida Road and Okwei Street roads Onitsha at the contract sum of N1bn, while Ndiowu road to Orumba North Local Government Area, totalling 4.82kms, was awarded at a contract sum of N630m with completion period of 28 weeks.
