35-year-old housewife commits suicide in Ogun

Mrs. Omolola Atejioye, a 35-year-old woman on Tuesday, August 16, committed suicide.

The sad incident took place inside her apartment located along Ago-Iwoye road, Ilishan-Remo, in Ikenne local government area of Ogun state.

Her body was found dangling from the ceiling of the apartment, after the door was forced open.

Reports revealed that the deceased was found dead around 5.30pm when her husband, Ayodele Atejioye, who is a staff of Babcock University, Ilisan Remo, returned from work, to their apartment.

The husband, who works in Babcock’s varsity’s central store, reportedly found the body of his late wife dangling in the room, with the rope tied to the ceiling, after he forced the door to their apartment opened.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, Ogun state acting Police Public Relations Officer, said her remains has been deposited at Babcock University morgue, where her husband works.

He said: “A member of staff of the Babcock University reported to our men in Ilisan-Remo, that he returned from work around 5.30pm, and met the body of his wife dangling from the ceiling of their apartment, after the door was forced open.

 “The policemen later brought the body down and it had been deposited in the mortuary of the Babcock University in the same town. The deceased did not leave any suicide note. A post mortem would be carried out on the corpse.”

Meanwhile, the people of Magbaleze Isu Onicha area of Ebonyi state have lamented over the lifeless bodies of a couple found on a farm.

The bodies of 36-year-old Ani and his wife were found in a nearby farm with marks of violence all over their bodies. It was learnt that the man and his wife left for the farm but did not return home after a long time.
