The Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) issued a strong warning against the navy on Sunday morning, challenging key officers in the organization to visit the creeks of Niger Delta instead of operating from the safety of cities.

According to  reports gathered, NDA urged Rear Admiral Jospeh Okojie, Commander of Operation Delta Safe, as well as Commodore Joseph Dzunye, Commanding Officer of the Nigeria Navy Service, to visit their strongholds in the Niger Delta area.

Following the reported arrest of two members of the NDA yesterday, the militants that both apprehended suspects were in fact spies working in collaboration with security outfits and that both men had been given N5 million by two leaders in order to provide operatives with information on the activities of militants within the Niger Delta region.

"We made it clear that the Nigeria military is using sleepers’ agents to track or checkmate the activities and operation of the Niger Delta Avengers. But the more they try, the more they run into crisis with their employed sleeper agents," NDA's statement read in part.

“The creeks of the Niger Delta belong to us, so defeating the Nigeria military is not hard for us. We have made it clear in many occasions that our business is to cripple the Nigeria economy not to kill military.
