Cultural Tourism: Oyo Ready To Partner Investors – Information Commissioner

Oyo’s Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Toye Arulogun has affirmed the State Government’s readiness to synergize with genuine tourism agencies on issues relating to culture and tourism.

This, he noted will boost the economy of the State and further harness the potentials yet untapped in the tourism sector.

He said this today, during a courtesy call by the executives of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Tour Agencies, NANTA, in his office.

Arulogun posited that tourism has been a docile and untapped viable part of Nigeria’s economy which needs to be reawakened, adding that the State Government under the leadership of Senator Abiola Ajimobi is ready to cooperate with credible and willing investors.

He also noted that Oyo State is blessed with numerous natural tourist sites and cultural events, which have not been adequately packaged and promoted.

Speaking further, Mr. Arulogun who noted that the responsibility of promoting the State’s cultural tourism assets and destinations not only should be saddled with Government, therefore urged NANTA to partner with the State Government in this regard.

He said, “Let us come up with how we can work together and package Oyo State in an appealing way to its citizens, Nigeria and the world at large.

The Commissioner also appealed to the members of the Association to fulfill their civic and corporate responsibilities in the State as their contribution to improving the Internally Generated Revenue of the State.

Speaking earlier, the National President of the Association, Mr Bankole Bernard pledged members’ unalloyed support to government and the Ministry in particular to develop the tourism potentials of Oyo State.
