THE Former Attorney General of Nasarawa State, Barrister Innocent Lagi, has described the bailout funds and loans given to states by the Federal Government as an unconstitutional act.
Barrister Lagi, who made his observation while speaking to CEOAFRICA source Tribune, on Wednesday, in Lafia, said all monies kept in thrust by the Federal Government belongs to federal, states and local governments and cannot be loaned to states.
He added that, the Federal Government can only share monies with the three arms of government and not issue out loans for interest, saying the Federal Government is not a financial institution and cannot operate on such mandate.
Barrister Lagi, who also spoke on the corruption fight of President Muhammadu Buhari, described his corruption fight as partisan, saying if the campaign funds of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) should be probed, same should be applicable to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The Former Attorney General also queried the freezing of Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose's account with a court warrant.
He added that, the governor still enjoys immunity and should be allowed to finish his tenure before probing him.
