The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, has accused the state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko of planning to organise  a rally against the on-going anti corruption crusade of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The party alleged that Mimiko has perfected plans with some youths and thugs to stage the anti-Buhari rally in Akure, the state capital.

In a statement issued in Akure, the state capital by the publicity secretary of the party in the state, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, the party alleged that “N3, 000 each has been earmarked for the over 5,000 youths.”

He further alleged that part of the plans of the government was to import some students from the South-South region to participate in the said rally.

Abayomi described the action of the governor as unfortunate while workers are on strike over their unpaid six months salaries.

According to Abayomi, the move by the governor is because he is scared of the wind of anti corruption war which is sweeping all corrupt individuals in the country.

But the Commissioner for information and Strategy in the state, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, when contacted on the telephone, described the allegation as “ imagination of the originator”.

Akinmade said, “How can somebody sit down somewhere and be saying we are planning protests against anti-corruption crusade of the president?.

What that means is that, we are supporting corruption.
