
Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has warned that government will not allow some disgruntled elements to disrupt the peace in the state.
The governor while addressing members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) who paid him solidarity visit in his office yesterday, said the state which had since been enjoying peace will not be allowed to be destabilised by some misguided elements.
He said, “Our doors are open for negotiation and dialogue and for whoever is disenchanted with our programme and policies.
“We meant well for the people of the state. We want the future of our children to be better and that is why we initiated the new education policy,” he said.
He however assured indigenes of the state that he will not allow anything to taint the record of peace which had been one of the major achievements of his administration.
Hundreds of members of the National Union of Road Transport Union Workers, NURTW, had stormed the main gate of the Oyo State government secretariat advocating for peace in the state.
The solidarity rally which was led by its state chairman, Alhaji Taofeek Oyerinde was initiated to support the Senator Abiola Ajimobi led administration in the state.
Oyerinde said that the union embarked on the peace rally to sensitise the people of Oyo State on the need to allow peace to reign.
