The new FIFA panel vetting top officials has passed Fatma Samoura to start work as secretary general.

Samoura, a long-time United Nations administrator from Senegal, begins her first job in soccer next Monday in Zurich.
She was picked by FIFA President Gianni Infantino last month to be the first woman and first non-European for the job in the soccer body’s 112-year history.

Samoura’s two predecessors — Jerome Valcke and interim replacement Markus Kattner — were both fired by FIFA this year over alleged misconduct.
FIFA has created a Review Committee to conduct ethical and eligibility checks on candidates for elections, senior management hirings, and appointments to independent committees.
The panel includes a former European Court of Justice lawyer and former India High Court judge.
