The Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of  Biafra (MASSOB), and Biafra independence Movement (BIM), has solicited the assistance of the United States of America to divide  Nigeria into six independent countries.

In a press statement to mark 49 years of the declaration of Biafra by the late Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu,  Mazi Chris Mocha, Biafra Director of information,  appealed to the United States of America to consider the lives of  people  that were killed on daily basis in Nigeria  arising from the insurgency in the North East and Fulani herdsmen  affiliated to ISIS and Boko Haram sect.

Mocha lamented that “Abuja politicians’ have allowed their parochial interests and ambition to becloud their sense of reasoning when our people are dying” noting that the only solution is to recognise the six geo- political zones of Nigeria as independent countries namely:  South east (Biafra),   South South (Niger Delta),   North east,  North west, and   North central.

He said, “no amount of preaching on nationalism can change Nigeria”.

Mocha advocated that when the zones are granted independence; the assets of the citizens of the different countries will be protected by the international laws, just as bilateral agreements will guide the future relationship of the new republics.

Meanwhile, Mocha has alleged that about 92 members of BIM were arrested by soldiers on Saturday and detained at police head quarters, Amawbia.

He said that the BIM and MASSOB members including Biafran veterans were returning from a meeting in a five chartered buses to Owerri when soldiers barricaded the Ontisha-Owerri road by Azia junction at IhIala in Anambra State where they were arrested.
