
The Kwara State governor, Alh Abdulfatah Ahmed yesterday flagged off 2016 planting season, with sugar cane at BUA owned Lafiagi Sugar Company(LASUCO).
The ceremony signalled commencement of operations at LASUCO where BUA Group planned to invest $300million .
Governor Ahmed said that increased sugar cane plantation as being championed by the BUA Group would help in diversifying the nation’s economy and create job opportunities for Kwarans.
He commended the management of LASUCO for daring all the odds to eventually commence the operations of the sugar company.
The governor who expressed optimism that the development would positively revolutionalise the economy of the state and Nigeria in general stressed that it would create wealth and massive gainful employment for the youths in the community and the state in general because of the nature of the production.
