DELTA State Council of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, on Tuesday in Asaba, said it fully supports the liberalization of the petroleum downstream sector while demanding the utilization of accrued subsidy claims to offset pension arrears and workers’ bonuses in all the states preparatory to the implementation of the new minimum wage.

 The council in a statement by its factional Chairman, Williams Akporeha, at the end of its State Executive Council, SEC, meeting, noted that while Congress was in support of the liberalization of the petroleum downstream sector in Nigeria, it was the responsibility of government to initiate measures to mitigate the impact of the action on ordinary Nigerians.
