A chieftain of the Peoples D emocratic Party PDP Engineer Femi Babalola has said that the Adebayo Alao-Akala led administration handed over 18billion naira to Ajimobi government.

Engineer Babalola while speaking in an interview with CEOAFRICA reporter in Ibadan the Oyo state capital said that the Ajimobi led government inherited over 18 billion naira from the approved federal government road projects constructed in the state.

He explained that the money the federal government owned the state on federal government project that were already approved and been certified for payment.

According to him, PDP constructed a lot of roads especially intra-city roads, Akala did wonderfully well in the area of road especially the road linking Ogbomoso and Osun state, “Ajimobi cannot measure up to what Akala did; akala went across the state in all the projects he embarked upon throughout his tenure”.

On the assessment of Governor Abiola Ajimobi since his assumption in office Engr. Babalola said based on what he is doing, he does not deserve a second term, “there poverty, the masses is not feeling his impact or the effect of government in the state currently. He said that he competing with the former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, thinking roads are the only necessary thing, he is channelling all his energy on road, adding that people of other state are the ones benefiting from government contracts”.

He lamented that Ajimobi government is dualising roads where they are not needed explaining that the roads built in isehin are not as important as pipe borne water knowing that there is usually an outbreak of cholera in that part of the state.

On his aspiration to contest the 2015 governorship election Engr. Babalola vows to create employment for the people of the state, saying that if there are jobs for people, infrastructures will come.

He said his government will concentrate more on industrialisation and revive all the dying industries in Oyo state.

On the low power supply in the country, Engineer Babalola said that the only way out of power shortage is to privatise the sector. “private sector is the way out of low power shortage in Nigeria just the way the telecommunication industry was privatised and is now working well”.

Engineer Babalola said that there is no crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party across the nation and there are no factions in the PDP but caucus in the party following individual believe based on interest.

While confirming that aliment between, senator Rasheed Ladoja and Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala is in progress and will be successful he said that senator Ladoja though in ACCORD party, remains a PDP including majority of the people in ACORD party. “the aliments will succeed based on their experiences as politicians, he said no one brought them together but they both decided to work with one another.

The party chieftain added that he is convinced that he will get the PDP governorship ticket in 2015 for the governorship election, adding that there is no crisis in Peoples Democratic Party only that some of the party members are aggrieved but things will fall in line when the election time comes.

Our correspondent reported that all efforts to speak with the Commissioner for Information to Oyo state Government pastor Otegbeye and the Special Adviser on Media on the issue were not successful as calls put through to their lines were not responded to.
