Nigeria have named a team of four players to the 2016 International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Junior Circuit holding in Egypt from March 23 to 27.

The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) on Tuesday released the list of players headed by national cadet champion, Abayomi Animasahun. The other players in the team are Azeez Solanke, Sunday Akomolafe and Amadi Omeh. Animasahun was a part of the ITTF Hopes Team to the 2015 ITTF World Cadet Challenge in Egypt and will return there for a chance at the cadet title.

Nigeria is expected to compete in the cadet and junior events with the team which will be coached by Dotun Omoniyi.

The NTTF said the federation’s determination to expose the younger players to world-class tournaments informed the country’s participation in the competition. The tournament, which is tagged the Egypt Junior and Cadet Open, is one of the ITTF Junior Circuits and will feature over 250 players across the world.

Apart from participating in the competition, the players will be using the tournament to warm up for this year’s ITTF Africa Junior Championship holding next month in Algeria.
