Desist from destroying national assets, PULO SHIELD warns vandals

The Commander Operation PULO SHIELD, Major General Alani Okunlola has warned against all acts of pipeline vandalism and destruction of critical national assets in the Niger Delta region.

This warning came in the wake of threats by a new group calling itself the ‘Niger Delta Avengers’ to attack oil and gas facilities in the region.

The Joint Force Commander said, “We are giving the misguided persons another opportunity to stop these acts of economic sabotage and surrender themselves to the rule of law just like some of their colleagues did in the past or face serious consequences.

The Commander gave this warning when the Acting Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI), Major General Sardauna Davies visited the Headquarters of Operation PULO SHIELD, in Yenagoa. The Commander, while welcoming the acting CDI and his entourage congratulated him on his appointment as the acting CDI and thanked him for all the operational support provided to the

Joint Force by the agency through the provision of timely intelligence, saying the visit was very auspicious as it will further strengthen the intelligence platform to deal with the criminals in the region.

He promised to intensify effort in the fight against oil theft, illegal oil bunkering, pipeline vandalism and all forms of criminalities in the region in line with the mandate of the Joint Force.

 The CDI who said he was in the region to assess the operations of the Defence Intelligence Operatives in the region commended officers and men of the Joint Force for their display of dedication, discipline and determination in the discharging their duties in line with the Operation

PULO SHIELD mandate.

He assured the Commander of his Agency's support in the fight against all acts of criminalities in the region.
