PDP's ex-ministers meet in Abuja over Sheriff's appointment

FORMER ministers under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are meeting in Abuja, to deliberate on the crisis arising from the appointment of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the national chairman of the party.

Speaking at the opening session of the meeting at NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja, the Chairman of the Former Ministers' Forum and former Minister of Special Duties, Tanimu Turaki, said the former ministers were not interested in struggling for space with anyone in the party but to protect it legacies.

Highlighting the achievements of the PDP during its 16 years in power, Turaki noted that they were meeting to discuss issues affecting the party and affecting them as a people and group.

Turaki explained: "A lot of people are asking why PDP Ministers' Forum and why now? Let me state for the avoidance of doubt, the Ministers' Forum came on board essentially to defend and protect the legacies of the PDP's 16 years in office. "

He said the meeting would discuss frankly and pass its resolutions to other stakeholders of the party.

Among the former ministers attending are: Femi Fani-Kayode,Bala Mohammed, Dr. Suleiman Abubakar, Prof. ABC Nwosu, Taoheed Adedoja, Prof. Jerry Gana, Aminu Wali, Lawal Batagarawa, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, Mrs. Felicia Akwashiki, Mike Onolememen, Jumoke Akinjide, Musa Sada, Steve Oru, Mohammed Wakil, Ibrahim Shekarau, Edem Duke, Josephine Anenih, John Odeh, Ojo Maduekwe, Shettima Mustapha, Boni Haruna, Eyak Eneyin, etc.
