Commandant John Adewoye, Oyo State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has congratulated the people of Oyo State for having the present set of executives in government. Commandant John made this statement during the Community Today's programme of CEOAfrica. He appreciated Governor Abiola Ajimobi for the way he is taking care of security in the State.

˜In Oyo State, we had thuggery of the union, but this has come to a stop and we are enjoying peace in Oyo State since the inception of Governor Ajimobi", Adewoye said.

He further said; Though there is nowhere in the world that we have 100 per cent security, but NSCDC has gone far, the people of Oyo State can sleep with both eyes closed without any problem because Oyo State is protected, but not totally free from criminal activities. The State is relatively free compared to what is happening around us in other states.

Commandant Adewoye said that NSCDC was formerly a voluntary body that metamorphosised into a paramilitary body empowered to provide security and gather information from the grassroots for the government.

He reinstated that he wants to be more proactive in discharging his duties and his officers to be more professional and operational with their jobs.

The Commandant further gave some security tips during the programme, the people of Oyo State and Nigeria should watch out for. He advised the people to be aware of the next person to them; inform security operatives if they see any strange things happening around them; stop receiving visitors in the night and parents should not allow their children to come home with too much visitors.

He urged the people of Oyo State to call the NSCDC Oyo Command lines in distress time. Hot Line: 08037149457, PRO - 08056567453, Commandant - 08038165960.
