The Oyo State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), John Adewoye, stated that equipping the arms squad of the corps has improved the agency in its core mandates and general duties.

He made this known while addressing the officers that returned from range exercise at Nigeria Security and Civil Defence College of Security Management, Abeokuta.

Adewoye said that the training was aimed at improving the efficiency of NSCDC in the execution of their constitutional roles and particularly with the current situation bedevilling the nation.

The Commandant further commended the level of discipline exhibited by the personnel during the training and enjoined them to continue to remain the good ambassadors of the organisation.

He further charged the officers to be more committed to the protection of lives and properties, at the same time carry out their duties with the fear of God.

He however enjoined the public to support NSCDC and other security outfits in making their jobs easier and to serve the citizens better.

It should be noted that about 75 senior officers recently completed a two-week marksmanship training at the command's headquarters in Ibadan.
