In line with the Operation PULOSHIELD determination to track and arrest perpetrators of the recent multiple attacks and bombing of some oil pipelines and installations across Niger Delta Region, some suspects have been arrested and currently undergoing preliminary investigation, while effort is on to track and arrest fleeing vandals.

The success of the arrest was, according to Col Isa Ado, Coordinator Joint Media Campaign Centre, due to highly intensified patrols and cordon and search of the waterways, creeks and communities by the Joint Force, in line with the directives of the Commander Operation PULO SHIELD, Major General Alani Okunlola, to apprehend those behind the criminal act.

It could be recalled that suspected militants recently attacked and vandalised some oil and gas pipelines across the Niger Delta, among which are, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Gas pipeline in Egwa 1Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State and Agip pipeline in

Brass LGA of Bayelsa State. The patrol of the general area has been intensified while cordon and search operation continues until all the culprits are arrested.

The Commander also assured the people of Niger Delta of the Operation PULO SHIELD determination to wipe out all acts of illegalities in the region and also called on them to give useful information that will aid the Joint Force in its operations in line with its mandate in the Niger Delta.

He further warned the perpetrators of the crime to desist from further destruction of oil facilities or be ready to face the wrath of the law.
