Popular gospel singer, Yinka Ayefele has stated that during the reign of
the late olubadan, Oba Samuel Odulana, he excelled as a musician.
Ayefele made this statement during a condolence visit to the late monarch’s
family, explaining that the reign on the late paramount ruler was a very
peaceful one for the entire state.
“Oba Odulana was as a rare gem, a father of all nations, a kind hearted
father and an exceptional leader. I give glory to God on behalf of the
family for the life well spent of the monarch and hope for progress in
Ibadan and Oyo state. His reign was so peaceful and I excelled during
Olubadan’s reign and I am sure both indigenes and non-indigenes in Ibadan
enjoyed baba’s tenure, he said.
While responding to the kind words of Ayefele, the late monarch’s first
son, Professor Lana Odunlana stated that the family is rejoicing because
the monarch succeeded in every endeavour he found himself, he explained
further that the burial arrangement will be announced by Oyo State
government on Monday, since the burial is a state burial.
A close associate and childhood friend to the late Monarch, Chief Ezekiel
Atanda, during a chat with the media in his house at Monatan Ibadan also
described the late Olubadan as hardworking, trust-worthy and loyal person
that hates corruption and laziness. He advised the youth to emulate him.
