Following the victory of Rivers state governor, Nyesome Wike and the Ebonyi state governor, Chief Dave Umahi at the supreme court. Rivers state governor, Nyesome Wike The election of both Wike and Umahi were challenged by the candidates of the APC.

Reacting to the victory, the deputy publicity secretary of the party, Abdullahi Jalo in a statement made available to our reporter said the party is grateful to God through the nation’s judiciary.

 “We are grateful to God through the Nation judiciary especially the Supreme Court, in Congratulating the Governor of River State, Ebonyi State for wining there cases,” he said.

He added that the independent of the judiciary has begun in the country.

“The independent of the judiciary has started working” he added.

Meanwhile, PDP governors have attacked the former political adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Ali Gulak following his purported taking over of the chairmanship position of the erstwhile ruling party.

In a communique issued after their meeting, they described Gulak’s invasion of their national headquarters alongside Doyin Okupe as “regrettable and condemnable”.

Governor Nyesom Wike’s mandate has been upheld by the Nigerian Supreme Court on Wednesday, January 27.
