DSP.Olabisi Ilobanafor PPRO Oyo State Police Command

1 dead in Oyo Police clash with Area Boys in Ibadan Oyo State, Nigeria

The Oyo state Police command has confirmed the death of one Ojo Obisesan a civilian who was shot dead by a police officer ASP Timothy in Oje area of Ibadan Oyo State, Nigeria.

The police PRO, DSP Olabisi Ilobanafor while confirming the incident to reporter said that  a distress call was made to Agugu police station that some miscreants were forcefully extorting money from motorist.

She said ASP Timothy led a team of police officer to restore peace and caution the thugs in the area.

The PPRO explained that the thugs on seeing the police pandemonium broke out as they began to cause my trouble, to curtail the situation ASP Timothy released some bullet into the air, which the bullet hit Ojo Obisesan who died instantly.

She stated that immediately the thugs attacked the police men, some other security agents who were there rescued the policemen have been taken to the hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.

Meanwhile the state commissioner CP Mohammed Ndabawa has order more police to the area to restore peace in Oje, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The command has directed an immediate investigation to find out the cause of the incident while assuring the people of Ibadan in Oyo State that the situation is under control.
