A 50-year-old man, Mr Moshood Mojoko, was electrocuted on Tuesday on an electric pole at Zone C, Road 7, Ago Ayo Community, behind Ilesa Motor Park at Oke-Ijetu in Osogbo, capital of Osun State.

The people of the area, including the five children of the deceased and his wife were thrown into mourning as a result of the incident which took the life of Moshood.

The deceased, who was said to be a refrigerator repairer wanted to take advantage of power outage to quickly make the connection, adding that in the process of carrying out the task, power was restored and he died on the pole.

An eyewitness said that Moshood had sent his wife to his house to bring his rubber hand glove but he could not wait for the woman to return and hastily climbed the pole, using bare hand to hold naked live wire, which resulted to his death.

Some members of the community told CEOAfrica that Moshood used to render services relating to electricity connection in the community with the knowledge and permission of the officials of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).

Speaking on the development, the Public Relations Officer of IBEDC in the Osogbo region, Miss Kike Owoeye said the company usually advised people to avoid illegal connections and to report faults to officials rather than tampering with their properties.
