Golden Eaglets’ Head Coach, Emmanuel Amuneke has yet again thanked Nigerians with special kudos for President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR)  after his wards decimated the A Selecao of Brazil 3-0 in  Sunday’s  quarter-final match at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Vina del Mar.

Among the goals for the four-time champions within a spate of five  minutes in the first half, were Victor Osimhen, who took his tally to eight goals in five matches, as well as midfielder Kingsley Michael and Udochukwu Anumudu .

“Today is one of my happiest days because there were so many who  doubted our abilities since we started this journey,” Amuneke, who will  be 45 on  December 25, told  thenff.com. “But I’m grateful to God for  making this (victory) possible for us. We have qualified for the semi  finals against all odds.”

He continued: “I want to use this opportunity to thank the players  as well as my technical team and backroom staff because we are a  team. We believed in what we were doing right from the beginning.  This is a joyful moment for us and we want God to take all the  glory of our success so far in this competition, and we also want to enjoy  this moment before planning for our next match.”

Speaking further, Amuneke had some good words for PMB, as President Muhammadu  Buhari is fondly called, for orchestrating changes in the polity of  the county, saying the success of the Golden Eaglets so far at Chile  2015 represents an audacity of change. “Today’s victory represents  change (for our country) in the sense that many who doubted us will  see that hard work, merit and truth are non-negotiable terms in  this team.

“Personally, I give kudos to President Buhari for introducing changes in our country; and if all of us can embrace those changes,  we can confidently say that everybody irrespective of where they come  from can be given an equal opportunity to play for the country.”

Meanwhile, the Golden Eaglets are scheduled to depart Vina del Mar for  Concepcion  on Monday  to await the winner of the encounter between  Ecuador and Mexico for  Thursday’ssemi –final match. The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) confirmed that the Eaglets will lodge at Hotel  Diego de Almagro Lomas Verdes while a training session is expected to hold  on Monday  evening at Santa Maria (O’Higgins) pitch.
