The Ghana National Gas Company has implored the Volta River Authority, (VRA), to settle debts owed it for the former to supply gas for power generation.

The VRA is indebted to Ghana Gas in the tune of millions of dollars.

If the debt is not paid, the situation could plunge the company into financial challenges.

Chief Executive of Ghana Gas, Dr. George Sipa-Adjah Yankey has already stated that the settlement of the debts is crucial for the company's survival.

Meanwhile, the government of Ghana has set up a team to look at the cross-debt of all the various companies in the energy sector.

The Public Utilities and Regulatory Commission is working on the mechanism for the settlement.
