Operation Pulo Shield arrests 1000 metric tons laden barge vessel, arrests 19 suspects

Troops of Operation Pulo Shield (OPPS) in Sector 2, operating along river Santa Barbara in Rivers State has arrested an illegal oil bunkering Barge laden with 1000 metric tons of illegally acquired Automated Gas Oil (AGO).

Lieutenant Colonel Isa Ado, Coordinator Joint Media Campaign Centre,revealed that eight suspects on board the barge were also arrested. Both the barge and arrested suspects are reported to be in the custody of Operation Pulo Shield.

Troops also arrested illegal oil bunkerers in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State with countless number of drums of stolen crude Oil. The suspects were identified as Mercy Akpamo and Bonky Victor.

In the same vein, Elvis Ogbeni, Lucky Akporoboro, Pius Oyibotha and Magret Akporoboro were also arrested with an illegal bunkering tanker with registration number Lagos XZ 843 AAA, pumping machine and a hose at Orogun Community in Ughelli North LGA.

The Troops in Sector 2 also carried out raid operations at Elechi and Nembe water side of Bayelsa State, where several illegal distillery camps were destroyed along with a Mercedes Van with registration number DW 68 PH, loaded with drums of AGO suspected to be stolen.
