People of Sumaila Town community in Sierra Leone benefitted from the Action Contre La Faim’s Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programme manager Edward Chaka, who distributed water containers, chlorine, cups and some limps of soap to them, CEOAFRICA reports.

This was one of the measures taken by the group to promote hygiene, thus preventing cholera epidemic in the community.

Mr. Chaka disclosed that formal registration of houses was made before the distribution of the items and that the entire community was divided into different zones. Only registered houses, he said, would benefit from the items, noting that they issued them with cards that guarantee their access to the supply of the cholera prevention items.

While expressing their gratitude to the group for its kind gesture, some of the beneficiaries noted that the distribution process was transparent, as they hope to receive more of this favour in future.
