Flood invades houses, Sagamu-Ikorodu road on Sallah day

Travellers and the people of Ogijo area was on Thursday disturbed by heavy downpour which led to flood during which residents in the area were preparing for Eld-el-Kabir celebration which is popularly celebrated by muslim faithfuls throughout the world.

The flood were said to have invaded some houses in the area which has put stop to activities in the town. CEOAfrica gathered that Muslim faithfuls coming from the prayer ground were also stopped by the flood which has delayed some travellers travelling to their respective homes.

 While speaking with our correspondent one of the victim who doesn’t want his name in print said Passengers were highlighting from their vehicles which has been hooked in the mud, she said the flood was caused by the deplorable condition of the road. She however called on the government to come to their rescue especially the people in the area and the travellers.

She said "The road is seriously spoiled and deep that a strange driver can be injured seriously, if care is not taken. Especially the Ogijo area of the road, it reduces the life span of every car that passes through it, government only remember Ogijo during campaign and election but when they get to power, they will forget Ogijo is existing

"In Ogijo here, there's no street without pothole. Everybody get scared if  the rain tries to fall because even our shortcuts have been spoiled by vehicles who are running away from the danger of the highways"
