Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has adviced Muslims in the country to use the period of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to reflect on their contributions as individuals towards elevating Nigeria as a country, asking the citizens to do more towards making the project work.
He said this at the Islamic ceremony organised by the State’s Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, on Wednesday, Mimiko said the season called for steadfastness and commitment towards uplifting the nation.
He noted that the Nigeria at this time, needed joint effort of both Muslim and Christians to make things work. While congratulating Muslims on the Eld-el-Kabir festivities, the governor urged all Nigerians to accommodate the spirit of tolerance, love and good neighbourliness among themselves.
Mimiko noted that the current challenges facing the nation, arising from the global economic meltdown, were not insurmountable with collaborative efforts while the people lived in peace and harmony and tolerating their differences.
